“DESIGN YOUR OWN COIN” CONTEST ANNOUNCED FOR JUNIORS
The C.N.A. Coin Kids Committee and the 2007 C.N.A. Convention are pleased to announce a coin design contest for juniors.
All juniors age 16 and under are eligible, whether they are members of the C.N.A. or not. They are asked to submit a design for a Canadian coin, along with a description and reasons for the choice of design. It can be any denomination, including a potential $5 coin. Submissions should be line drawings around 8” in diameter. The line drawings may be colourized, either in whole or in part. Parents should only offer encouragement and not participate in the selection of designs or assist in the drawing under any circumstances. Entries can be either serious or humorous. Up to 3 entries per junior are allowed.
To be eligible, submissions must be received 30 days prior to the beginning of the 2007 C.N.A. Convention, namely by May 11, 2007. Entries will be displayed at the Convention in Niagara Falls. Voting will be done via ballots that will be included in every Registration Kit and given to daily admissions. Ballots will be tallied and the person getting the most points will receive the following prizes in both age categories:
1st Place - Limited edition 2007 deluxe coin set commemorating the 2007 C.N.A. Convention. This set is available only at the C.N.A. Convention from the Royal Canadian Mint booth in very limited quantity. Total cost is over $100.00.
2nd Place – “Niagara Falls” 2003 $20 hologram silver coin produced by the Royal Canadian Mint. Original issue price $83.70 plus taxes.
3rd Place – “Niagara Falls” 2005 “Celebrate this Country” Oh Canada uncirculated set produced by the Royal Canadian Mint.
The winner does not have to be present at the convention. The prize will be mailed to them following the convention.

Please include your name, mailing address and e-mail address or telephone number so we can get in contact with you if necessary. Note that this information will be kept confidential. We would include only your age in the display at the Convention.
